[by Yu, Suin] Samsung Medical 바카라사이트 유니벳 (SMC) announced on November 7 that it held a ceremony marking its 31st anniversary.
SMC, which first opened its doors on November 9, 1994, held the ceremony in the main auditorium located on the first basement floor of its main building. During the event, the Center reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation and its mission to lead the ‘future of medicine.’
SMC ranked third globally for cancer treatment in the ‘World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2026’ list published by the international news weekly Newsweek, marking the second consecutive year it has achieved this distinction.
Given that the first and second positions were occupied by specialized cancer centers in the United States, SMC’s ranking further underscores its position as one of the world's leading general hospitals.
SMC also became the first institution worldwide to attain Level 7, the highest certification level, in four of the six assessment categories (EMRAM, INFRAM, DIAM, and AMAM) established by the Health Management Systems Society (HIMSS). In addition, the hospital achieved a perfect score of 400 in the Digital Health Indicator (DHI).
In March of this year, at the invitation of HIMSS, President Park Seung-woo delivered a keynote address at HIMSS 2025, the world's largest medical IT conference, titled ‘Samsung Medical Center's Representation of Korean Medical IT Technology and Expertise.’
In his opening remarks, Park stated, "We will take a major step toward realizing innovation through AI Transformation (AX), as one of the most significant topics of our era, and we will pioneer medical IT." Park further remarked, “We began this year with the ambitious goal of evolving into a hospital that leads the future of medicine. Together with the Samsung Medical Center community, we will forge a better path to further improve our expertise to treat complex, critical, and incurable diseases, areas in which we have long excelled.”
