'Eu바카라사이트 뱃무브' administered to three volunteers in a domestic phase 1 clinical trial
[by Ji, Yong Jun] EuBiologics announced on May 9 that the first administration of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) 바카라사이트 뱃무브 (hereinafter referred to as EuRSV) was administered to three clinical volunteers in the phase 1 clinical trial conducted in Korea.
The company received approval for phase 1 clinical trials from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in January and subsequently cleared the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Korea University Guro Hospital in March. This clinical trial aims to assess the safety and tolerability of Eu바카라사이트 뱃무브 by administering it twice to 100 healthy adults between 19 and 80 years of age.
EuRSV, the first RSV 바카라사이트 뱃무브 developed in Korea, is a recombinant protein subunit 바카라사이트 뱃무브 comprising the viral F protein antigen and an adjuvant, akin to advanced products. The company explained that it applied the liposome technology of the 'EuIMT platform', currently in phase 3 clinical trials for a COVID-19 바카라사이트 뱃무브, to EuRSV.
"Our goal is to develop EuRSV as a 'premium vaccine' to enter the global vaccine market," an official from EuBiologics stated. "We are contemplating conducting phase 2 and 3 clinical trials, both in Korea and abroad, in the future."
In contrast, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Pfizer secured product approval for their RSV 바카라사이트 뱃무브 from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2023. GSK's 'AREXVY' accounts for about two-thirds of the global RSV 바카라사이트 뱃무브 market share and achieved sales of about KRW 2.1 trillion (approximately USD 1.5 billion) last year alone.
바카라사이트 뱃무브 causes acute respiratory infections that may escalate to bronchitis and pneumonia, posing significant risks, particularly to infants, the elderly, and people with underlying diseases. According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), approximately 3 million people worldwide are hospitalized annually due to severe 바카라사이트 뱃무브 illness, with about 160,000 resulting in fatalities.
