[by Ji, Yong Jun] 바카라사이트 벳위즈 Holdings announced on July 15 that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) as part of its efforts to strengthen its corporate sustainability management system in alignment with global standards.
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), established by the United Nations (UN) in 2000, is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It is a voluntary framework that encourages businesses to uphold 10 universal principles in four key areas: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, while also contributing to the achievement of the UN’s ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).’ To date, the UNGC has garnered participation from over 25,000 companies and organizations across 167 countries around the world, including a growing number of Korean enterprises actively engaging in and practicing sustainable management.
With its admission into the UNGC, JW Holdings has been granted official membership in the initiative. With this as an opportunity, the company plans to systematically enhance its ESG (environmental, social, and governance) capabilities by adopting management principles aligned with the UNGC’s 10 principles and the SDGs and integrating them into its company-wide management practices.
“Joining the UNGC is a strategic move to reinforce our ESG management practices in line with global sustainability standards, grounded in JW’s founding values of ‘respect for life’ and a ‘spirit of challenge,’” a JW Holdings official said. “We are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities as a globally accountable company and will make every effort to build trust with stakeholders around the world.”
