[by Yu, Suin] A recent analysis indicates that the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the 바카라사이트 신고 sector is positioning the industry as a pivotal engine of national economic growth.

On October 16, during the ‘Bioplus Interphex Korea 2025 (BIX 2025),’ Korea's largest biotechnology exhibition held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, a special session titled ‘Great Transformation in Healthcare: A USD 5 Trillion Revolution Driven by AI and Data’ took place.

The session was presented by David Berry, MD, PhD, Managing Partner at Averin, often referred to as the ‘Elon Musk of the biotechnology industry.’ Rhee Byung-geon, Advisor at GI Innovation, joined the discussion as a panelist in his role as Chairman of the Korea Support Committee for the International Vaccine Institute (IVI).

Averin, a venture capital firm specializing in ‘healthcare and biotechnology,’ was co-founded by Dr. Berry, leveraging his two decades of expertise in investment, entrepreneurship, and research. Berry has also held leadership positions at several biotechnology companies, including Seres Therapeutics and Valo Health.

Berry emphasized that emerging technologies are giving rise to entirely new industries valued in the billions of dollars. He further projected that rapid technological advancements are fundamentally transforming the 바카라사이트 신고 sector, asserting that this evolution will serve as the primary catalyst for the largest creation of wealth in human history over the next 30 years.

"Technology is reshaping healthcare faster than any other industry," Berry remarked. "The healthcare sector has already expanded into a USD 5 trillion market, growing at a pace more than 30% faster than the overall rate of economic growth."

"In fact, the healthcare industry represents more than 20% of the United States’ gross domestic product (GDP) and currently stands as the nation’s largest employer. The healthcare sector is now emerging as the ‘primary engine driving the U.S. economy,'" he further commented.

Berry highlighted several key forces underpinning this transformation, including advances in 바카라사이트 신고, the rise of automation, the industrialization of longevity, decentralization, and increasing alignment among government policies and initiatives.

Berry particularly emphasized that AI enables the interpretation of data on a scale far beyond human cognitive capacity, addressing fundamental limitations in the healthcare system. He explained that medical professionals are traditionally trained to assess a ‘patient's current condition,’ reflecting a static approach to diagnosis and treatment. However, diseases are inherently dynamic and evolve over time as complex biological processes. By integrating data across the ‘temporal continuum’ and recognizing the dynamic nature of disease progression, healthcare providers can achieve more accurate diagnoses and more effective clinical interventions.

"The focus of AI investment is increasingly shifting toward the healthcare sector, with the number of AI-related transactions in healthcare surpassing those in the overall technology industry. To date, more than 1,000 AI-based medical devices have received regulatory approval, and artificial intelligence is now actively being used in real-world clinical trials," Berry stated.

"The cyclical mechanism of 'increased healthcare spending → extended lifespan → greater demand for medical services → industry growth' serves as a key driver of the healthcare industry growth, and the integration of AI technology is further strengthening this self-sustaining ecosystem," Berry emphasized. "As sufficient data continues to accumulate, AI will enable more effective treatment outcomes, personalized predictive models, and significant cost reductions. Korea, in particular, is often cited as a leading example of well-established data standardization and advanced infrastructure design, factors that position the country for rapid development in the AI-driven healthcare industry," he added.
